ABOUT US
Established on May 2, 1932 (26 Dzulhijjah 1350 H), Pemuda Muhammadiyah (Muhammadiyah Youth) is the autonomous youth organization of Muhammadiyah, dedicated to empowering Muslim youth. Our core mission involves developing leadership, advancing da'wah (Islamic propagation), and upholding the values of progressive Islam. The vision for our founding was pioneered by the insightful KH. Ahmad Dahlan during the 21st Muhammadiyah Congress, who stressed the profound importance of nurturing the younger generation within the da'wah movement.
Across Indonesia, Pemuda Muhammadiyah plays a significant strategic role in social, educational, and community life. Here in Cilegon City, we proudly carry this torch forward. Pemuda Muhammadiyah is an autonomous youth organization that is closely affiliated with and operates under the broader umbrella of Muhammadiyah, one of Indonesia's largest Islamic organizations. As its youth wing, Pemuda Muhammadiyah shares the core values and reformist Islamic principles of Muhammadiyah, focusing on empowering youth, fostering leadership, and contributing to social and religious development in line with Muhammadiyah's overarching mission. This structure allows Pemuda Muhammadiyah to address specific youth concerns and development while remaining an integral part of the larger Muhammadiyah movement.

'Aisyiyah is the women's movement of Muhammadiyah, while Pemuda Muhammadiyah is its male youth wing. Both organizations operate autonomously under the broad ideological umbrella and shared mission of Muhammadiyah, working in parallel to serve different demographics within the community. 'Aisyiyah focuses on empowering women, advancing education, health, and social welfare for women and families, while Pemuda Muhammadiyah concentrates on developing and mobilizing young men. They are sister organizations, both contributing to the broader goals of Muhammadiyah, rather than one being subordinate to the other.

Nasyiatul 'Aisyiyah is the autonomous organization for young women and girls within the Muhammadiyah movement, closely affiliated with 'Aisyiyah (Muhammadiyah's women's wing). Parallel to this, Pemuda Muhammadiyah serves as the autonomous organization for young men. Therefore, Nasyiatul 'Aisyiyah and Pemuda Muhammadiyah are sister youth organizations under the umbrella of Muhammadiyah, each focusing on the development and empowerment of their respective gender groups according to Islamic values and Muhammadiyah's principles, rather than one being an affiliate of the other
